Hi ya all,
(BTW this is my first thread here!)
I just pre-ordered Miroslav Philharmonik and I can't hardly wait for it to arrive! I just get more and more excited when I read about all the added features.

Now, I read in a previous thread here that a guy named Larry had made an awesome demo to really showoff MP. So Squids, if you read this, why don't you just put that demo on the site now. :) I bet everybody wants to hear it. Perhaps even more people would pre-order the product if they heard this demo??

BTW, could anyone tell me about the misc instruments included in MP? I heard that there was going to be a nylon-string guitar??!! How is the guitar sampled? Lots of artculations or just simple singlenote-picking?

I guess this forum will be the official Miroslav Philharmonik community? There's not too much talk about Miroslav at the northernsounds forum, where I usually post, so I guess I'll pop in her from time to time, if I have any Miro-related to ask/share!

Cheers

Chris

Some people never give up, do they.

Yeah - I'm really surprised there haven't been more demo's. I'm really very much going on faith here - not that I don't have faith, because I do, in great amounts :D but as a rule I don't go on faith EVER, EVER.

I'm really looking forward to hearing more :D

I take it that was meant as a sarcastic reply? I don't understand why people make such fuzz about it really. It's not like you don't have an extra USB-port, and if you don't you could always get one of those USB-"chains"...
Also, you're just as likely to break or loose the key as to break the computer it is plugged into... If people are not carful with their belongings I really don't feel sorry for them if something goes wrong. Squids also stated that you could always get a new key if yours is broken...

The only problem the key would bring is for those who chooses not to support the companies and instead use pirated software. Can't help it, but I don't feel sorry for them either... ...as we don't want these people to use the products that we paid for and developers spent months working on...

The USB key is no big deal, authorization is a snap, and the classical guitar in there is just that, a classical guitar suitable for use in classical works. It is single plucked notes, but sounds very nice.

It doesn't exactly present a problem for them either, for that matter.

Joseph Burrell: are you telling us that you HAVE PHILHARMONIK?! Please tell us more. We already know that Miroslav is excellent for its emotional contant and ability to play very lush passages. What I want to know is if it can create the sound of your typical action/adventure movie score! Do the marcato strings and brass have sufficient "oomph" in them to do that sort of thing? Feel like making a demo? :D

I deleted "nonono's" post as fast as I delete emails that say "Your requested information is attached".

I consider that kind of post to be just intentional sabatoge to clog up and divert what would otherwise be a productive thread originally started with good intentions in our company forum.

Okay, maybe I am a little sensitive. :hihi: But, this is a good forum and it has always been one of the most popular (not to mention one of the first) company forums here. Myself and others who enjoy the information exchange here really don't appreciate people being disrespectful. If you have something to say then please read first to see if that subject has been covered (and the key has been covered repeatedly with probably nothing much else to cover, so last we left it around here was: get it or don't get it if you can or can't handle that a $4,000. orchestra and choir library comes to you at 10X less the price but is protected with a key).

Now, back to the the thread topic (sorry Shantar). Yes, this would be the official home of all Sonic Reality products and we cover IK products here too (and discuss all of the formats we support as well). But, I do also want to encourage discussions at Northern Sounds as well. We're supporting that site and want to be a part of that community since Miroslav Philharmonik has a broader appeal that spreads between a place like KVR and Northern Sounds. KVR on the side of it being a virtual instrument and Northern on the side of it being a high end orchestral collection. So, to discuss in either place is fine by us.

To answer you original question (even I get sidetracked by the off topic distractions), I can't post Larry's demo myself before IK posts it which I suspect will happen this week. I agree that when people hear it more people will want to order it. Hmmm. Although they don't have much longer to post at the pre-order discount which ends on Wednesday. Maybe what we'll do is extend the pre-order discount time until Friday (or even the following Monday) and then I will see if we can post the demo (and maybe more) this Monday so people have a week. I will TRY to do this but I cannot promise. It is a good idea though.

Yeah, he is one of the few people who have it. Kim from esoundz should have an early copy soon and of course Larry Ortega and a few others doing demos have it. Everyone who pre-ordered it will be getting it soon! Exciting?

Joseph you can talk about it. I noticed you've been careful about it but its ok here or on Northern for you to share your opinion. People respect your opinion who know you so that can possibly be helpful to some who can't wait to get their hands on it.

Thanks for the go ahead, perhaps I'll post a seperate thread giving my take so far.

OT:
Squids, why aren't ppl allowed to type critisim about the products?

I have tried SS and it doesn't work very well in logic 5.51, and imo the sounds where kinda crap...that's my experience with the product..now, let's se if this post stays here, it's valid critisim from my behalf.

Post

They most certainly are allowed to criticise the product if they are using it.

Squids encourages all sorts of feedback from customers on this forum - and I know because I've been critical in the past (on occasion).

I think people are sometimes confusing this forum for an "Everything Else" forum in KvR. It's a company support forum where potential customers seeking advice can get direct feedback from people like Squids and Kim and other knowledgeable customers who already own the product.

It's a customer-company-customer contact forum.

Such useless insertions into a potential customer's query like "Enjoy your dongle!" can be removed freely and without guilt as far as I'm concerned. The post serves no purpose other than to be inflamatory and can quite happily exist in one of several non-company forums on KvR.

It's true that Squids likes to keep this forum informal and chatty, but I certainly have no problem with him drawing the line every once in a while and that post seemed to fit the criteria for removal perfectly.

Then again - I'm an SR/eSoundz fanboy - so you don't need to listen to me. :D

Happiness is the hidden behind the obvious.

Like Caleb said, there have been plenty of criticisms leveled at IK/SR products here that were not deleted.

But jumping into a thread about Philharmonik and conclusorily claiming that you didn't buy SS2 because "the sounds where kinda crap" is more akin to trolling than a "valid criticism."

Sure it's valid,,, but you're gonna have huge SS2 fans like me responding. I love SS2. I've been playing keyboards for longer than I care to admit, and IMHO, SS2 is amazing. To me, it's like going to a vintage keyboard store and bringing home everything they got. It's my personal favorite eSoundz purchase.

Not sure what you mean by not working well, in Logic, but it works very well in Sonar and Project 5, FWIW.

Also,,,we really have been all through the "D" thing here. Those who don't like them and ordered it have are free to cancel, and it was clearly a dig to those of us who are going ahead and getting it. You saying SS2 sounds are "kinda crap" is totally different, even though I disagree. Squids let people blow plenty of steam, but when it was compaired to 9/11, it was time to shut that thread down.

He did say SS not SS2. I was not a fan of SS either. SS2 is significantly better though. It's the 'builders' synth library. You want lots and lots of layers to work with, it's all there for you.
