So, having spent 4.5 hours downloading the Tom Tom Club gig, I find I can't open it.
It's all as .shn and despite googling, I can't make head nor tail of this.
I've downloaded an exe file for 'shorten' but it doesn't appear to do anything.
I've read a few pages of stuff about it but feel I could do with someone to translate into laymans terms just how I unpack these files.
Any advise, people?
Thanks in advance.
Oh, and to save anyone the bother of saying it - yes, I must be stupid or something.

My winamp plays shorten files, but I probably installed a winamp plugin aeons ago.
I just downloaded a couple of Trail of Dead concerts, and they were flac'ed. Needed a plug for that, too...
Both flac and shorten are good lossless formats, and if you're going to start downloading concerts, you'll need both codecs installed.
I can't recall where I got the codec, but I can't believe google didn't help. I can't imagine I got it any other way...
Let me have a look around my old disks.
edit: You don't unpack them. You play them in your media player.

Hovmod: Yeah, I've got FLAC and Monkey Audio but Shorten is a new one to me. Never come across it before.
I'll try it in winamp though, see what happens.
Thanks tommo - I'll investigate those links now.

So, with a combination of help from tommo and Hovmod, I installed a plug-in so these files will play in WinAmp (my fave media player anyway) without uncompressing.
Better than nowt. Don't know why, but I was expecting an actual video of the gig.
Thanks guys!
