BR? - Export MIDI from sequencer

I can export a MIDI file from a MIDI part just fine. However, trying to export from the sequencer, even if there is only one channel, creates a MIDI file that nothing can play. (By nothing I mean Windows Media Player and Winamp. The files can be re-loaded into energyXT.)
Maybe I'm doing something wrong or working under some wrong assumptions. I'd like to be able to create some GM MIDI files with more than one channel. Could someone else try doing some exporting and playing to see if this is just a problem with my system or my methodology? Or if someone knows what I'm doing wrong...
UPDATE: I just noticed in the MIDI editor's event list that everything is listed as being MIDI channel 1, even though I've selected a different channel for that track. Is there a way to select a MIDI channel for a part or note?

Pough,
I just tried "Export MIDI file" and it was fine in WMP9. (Import/Export part saves a different type of file which would not play in WMP)
You might need to save it with .mid on the end of the name.
I can confirm that the MIDI notes are exported as Channel 1, it looks like the MIDI Output Ch number in the Seq Mixer for the track is not used for Export MIDI file.
Seems like a BR to me.
I guess the MIDI Output channel is only used when the MIDI notes are sent to a VSTi.
And no you cannot set a MIDI output channel for a part or note, only for the whole track (when the notes are sent to a VSTi).
HTH

Thanks, DarkStar! Export works fine from a part, but did you try exporting as MIDI from the sequencer? In the sequencer's file menu, underneath "render to wav" is another set of MIDI file tools (import and export).

Interesting. I got it to work, too, but only when I don't set an output channel on a track. Here are my test files:
energyXT project with no MIDI channel set
MIDI output from above
energyXT project with MIDI channel set to 1
MIDI output from above
energyXT project with no MIDI channel set
MIDI output from above
energyXT project with MIDI channel set to 1
MIDI output from above

BR confirmed here - setting the O.Ch in the MIDI track header messes up the exported MIDI file
