Clack

The theme and purpose of Clack is pretty simple. We wanted to capture as much sharp, bright, warm, & tonal wooden impact percussion as your heart could desire. We recorded several bamboo poles, bamboo logs, a whole pile of claves, woodblocks, clappers, a box drum, and other assorted wooden implements that epitomize the word "thwack". These elements are ideal for auxiliary percussion in orchestral composition and epic film/tv/game soundtrack scoring. They are also vital components in Latin music and hip hop, as well as "icing on the cake" building-blocks and raw source material for experimental music and IDM.

We recorded all of these sets up-close and 90% dry in a medium-sized hardwood and masonry percussion studio, providing just the right amount of body and liveliness. All instruments were captured with 10 round-robins per velocity layer, with an average of 6 velocity layers per note. For Clack 3.0, we remastered the samples, fused them into our efficient four-layer modular template, and created brand new ambient pads and atmospheres from the raw source content. We also designed 20 new custom FX presets to give you instant inspiration for your next film/video game score, soundtrack or music composition.

The Kontakt interface includes a suite of automation-ready sound-shaping controls to give you total creative flexibility. You have control over swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch (coarse & fine), articulation switching, cross-fading and layering, and so much more. We've also included 20 unique sound-designed custom FX presets to give you lots of creative options.
