FRCTL Audio has released version 3.0.1 of GRN, a major update to their real-time granular effect plugin for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Version 3.0 is the largest update to date, pairing a ground-up interface redesign with several new modulation and workflow features.
New
- Two ADSR envelopes — drag onto any knob to modulate it, alongside the existing dual LFOs. Triggerable from the audio input or on every grain.
- Step Mode — turns the grain visualizer into a 4/8/16-step sequencer with per-step subdivisions and swing.
- A/B Compare — switch instantly between two versions of a sound, with copy and swap between slots.
- Undo / Redo — up to 64 steps of history covering every change, from knob moves to preset loads.
- 140+ factory presets across 14 categories — 40 more than before, now with modulation built in.
- Expanded controls — resonance and a 12/24 dB slope on the main filters, plus a sixth control on all 10 FX rack effects.
- Redesigned interface — larger canvas, a unified top bar, segmented controls, hover help, and a new settings panel with GUI scaling.
