Big Man Labs has released Big Max Zero version 1.2, an update to its free low-latency limiter plugin for Windows, macOS, and Linux (VST3/AU/CLAP).
Version 1.2 introduces oversampling (2x/4x) for inter-sample peak detection, ADAA (Antiderivative Anti-Aliasing) on the gain envelope for lower distortion across all four limiting modes, delta monitoring to audition what the limiter is removing, gain match for level-matched A/B comparison, and latency-compensated bypass that stays aligned with the DAW's plugin delay compensation. The update also adds light and dark interface themes and includes revised limiting algorithms with lower THD.
Big Max Zero is designed for use during music creation and production rather than solely at the mastering stage. With selectable latency as low as 0.5 ms, it is suited to tracking, mixing, live streaming, and broadcast applications where monitoring latency matters.
