Freqport has introduced the FreqInOut FO1, a unique device designed to bridge the gap between high-quality outboard equipment and digital workflows.
The FreqInOut FO1 is a hardware interface with 4 audio inputs and outputs that connects to a computer via USB-C. Outboard gear is connected to the FreqInOut hardware, and the included plugin is inserted into a DAW track, effectively turning the outboard gear into a plugin. This simplifies the process of incorporating outboard gear into a DAW-based workflow by eliminating the need for complex routing, setup, and potential latency or timing issues.
The FreqInOut FO1 offers several key features:
- Simplified Connectivity: Connect any outboard equipment to a DAW without complex routing or setup.
- Enhanced Workflow: Enable Mid/Side mode, utilize the Hardware MIX feature for parallel processing, fine-tune gain staging, and experiment with unique routings.
- Analog Harmony Core Technology: Capture authentic analog sound with digital control and precision. Supports up to 192kHz sample rate with onboard 32-bit pro-grade ESS converters.
- Scalability and Flexibility: Add 4 (or 8 with two units) inputs and outputs to an existing audio interface. The built-in hardware analog matrix allows for reconfiguring signal flow without adding latency.
The FreqInOut FO1 will be available for purchase in November 2024 at a retail price of $599.00. Pre-orders are available now through Freqport's website and authorized dealers such as Sweetwater. A rack-mount kit will be available as an optional extra.
