Lunatic Phase has released Lunatic Pump Fast, a dedicated volume modulation plugin designed to create ducking and pumping effects without the requirement of traditional sidechain routing. The tool focuses on precision timing and dynamic control, allowing users to automate volume envelopes across a variety of rhythmic intervals.
The plugin functions by syncing a volume envelope to the host DAW tempo, with support for nine different note lengths ranging from 1/64 notes to 4 whole notes. An integrated offset control allows for the placement of the ducking effect on off-beats or specific rhythmic positions. The architecture is designed for zero-latency operation and incorporates sample-rate independent smoothing to prevent clicking or artifacts during aggressive automation or parameter adjustments.
Pump Fast utilizes vector processing to maintain low CPU overhead, intended for use across multiple instances within a single project. The interface is freely resizable and includes built-in dry/wet and bypass controls for parallel processing and A/B testing.
