The Mix Challenge competitions start off with one game this month.
The following challenges are currently open to compete in:
- Songwriting Competition #101:
- The theme being "Community Scramble" (Special Sound Design Challenge).
- Create a production in any music genre you feel like (fitting to the given premise).
- Deadline: 24th of January.
Prizes will be awarded to the Winners Podium. Among them (selection): Acon Digital, Audified, BLEASS, Cherry Audio, Ghostwave Audio, Hollow Sun, Hornet Plugins, IK Multimedia, JRR Sounds, Kilohearts, kv331 audio, Luftrum, Masterlab Audio, Metric Halo, Musiclab, NoiseWorks Audio, NUGEN Audio, Rekkerd Sounds, Satyatunes Graphic and Sound Design and Tone2.
Through October and November 2025, the Mix Challenge audio community has collected a small but interesting selection of self-created sounds and samples to be used as the main sound source for the Songwriting Competition 101 (SWC101). Participants can mangle this material through re-sampling, modulation, wavetable synthesis or similar. The main idea is to push creativity, as there is only a limited selection of sounds available.
The rules and guidelines of the Songwriting Competition apply. SWC101 will run until 24th January 2026. The Mix(ing) Challenge is on its annual vacation until February 2026.
