NAMM 2017Touch Innovations releases Kontrol Master - Ergonomic Controller

-
Touch Innovations

Touch Innovations has announced the availability of Kontrol Master, a touch technology-driven desktop design that speeds up workflow with enhanced ergonomic control of unlimited DAW virtual faders and knobs (or any other creative software).

Kontrol Master integrates its user's second hand using a high-precision, highly-responsive knob to control virtual knobs, faders, and more. It works by simply hovering the mouse pointer over the object to be controlled and immediately start using that knob.

Touch Innovations COO Cody Myer says: "Using this controller gives you such a fluid, comfortable response, but, more than that, you get precision. Whereas, you can overshoot and undershoot using your mouse and keyboard, which can be frustrating. So adding a hover-dynamic experience — to simply be able to go over any of the key elements, move along, and edit on the fly is a really handy tool. Not only that, it's capacitive, so you can touch. On the knob you're touching things to control, so you've got full vertical, rotary, and horizontal control throughout any software — whether it's Windows, Mac... even Linux. On top of that, all the buttons are preprogrammed. We have custom layouts for Reason, Ableton, Logic, and more. You can also customise it and save those settings, so you have your own defaults when you start. Cooler still the transport windows let you use multiple monitors... simply tap the buttons and — from the same position that you're already at on your screen — this will instantly take you to your secondary monitor, without having to keep searching for your mouse, so you can do what you need to do."

Kontrol Master is USB powered; plug it into your computer, customise the unit using the KM software, and use it immediately. The single knob provides accurate control of different objects in various software interfaces. Pressing one of the three white buttons allows that knob to control vertical, rotary, and horizontal objects. The two orange buttons let users instantly surf across multiple monitors. These and all other buttons make it possible to fire a combination of up to 24 different kinds of actions, like keystrokes, shortcut keys, and MIDI events. Essentially a plug-and-play device, Kontrol Master makes more time to focus on projects while reducing the strain of countless hours that would otherwise be spent editing — time that could be better spent producing and mixing music, videos, or graphic works of art.

Kontrol Master is available for online purchase directly from Touch Innovations for $299.00 USD — with free shipping in the continental United States.

I don't know if that's fair to say. Lots of devices use the same sort of interface- and many before nob.

Plenty of interfaces have had a very similar design, but that doesn't mean Touch Innovations copied nob, or that they are unoriginal. This is a different device- with more functionality, than the nob anyway.

Cheers.

I just ordered this. So many knobs and sliders on various things in virtual instruments and DAWs feel awkward to adjust with precise confidence. My hope is that I will be able to adjust the sensitivity of the knob so that such adjustments are a pleasure instead of an act of frustration. With most things I am first using the mouse to get within the ballpark, and then double clicking to then manually enter closer and closer numbers from the keyboard. This almost has to be better than that.

I agree 100% with pthelo.
I discover this device reading KVR, I decide take the risk and order this KM device few days ago and today the unit is finally here with me !
NOW I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS THING!!! constructed as solid tank with incredible and extreme higher resolution!! It has a much higher resolution than Contour ShuttleXpress and the Powermate's toys. The knob in combination with buttons is amazing when you use your brain for proper programming.
They shipped trough Fedex and the unit arrive to Brasil in 7 days correctly and strong packaged.
Thanks KVR guys for the article! THK to TI guys for this amazing device, my prayers were heard.
