The Behringer 1004 is a faithful, all-analog recreation of the iconic 1004 Voltage Controlled Oscillator from the ARP 2500 modular synthesizer series. This module serves as a primary sound source, known for its rich harmonic content and stable tuning, providing the foundational tones for any subtractive synthesis patch. The 1004 is celebrated for its versatile feature set, including multiple simultaneous waveform outputs and a wide frequency range, making it a cornerstone for creating powerful basslines, searing leads, and complex audio-rate modulations within your Eurorack system.

At its core, the 1004 provides five simultaneous waveform outputs: sine, triangle, sawtooth, square, and pulse. The pulse width can be modulated via a dedicated CV input, allowing for classic PWM sounds that add movement and texture. The oscillator's frequency can be controlled with precision via the coarse and fine-tuning knobs, and it features multiple CV inputs for frequency modulation, including both exponential and linear FM, for creating complex and dissonant tones. A unique feature is the "weak sync" input, which allows the oscillator's phase to be reset by another oscillator for classic sync sounds. A dedicated Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) input with a manual control knob adds another layer of dynamic sound design possibilities.
