AC-DR Acoustic Drum Machine

AC-DR is 'an old school drum machine with 21st century sampling techniques.'

It features acoustic drums recorded in new ways (including sampling robots) to achieve a dry, warm & chunky drum sound. There are no traditional velocity layers, only 'normal' + 'accent'. Each of these layers has 10 round robins which SC say gives the drums a living, organic feel.

All the sounds in AC-DR are generated from the acoustic drum itself, including mics, contact mics, live echo chambers and transformer distortion. AC-DR has up to 5 of these channels per drum to blend. Each of these channels is part of the same drum hit, all in phase and time aligned together.

AC-DR also features Soniccouture's three 'Beat Tools'; a set of sequencers which apply different approaches to drum sequencing. Euclidean Beats (which uses Euclidean maths), Beat Shifter (A generative step sequencer) and Poly Beats which creates polyrhythmns using different bar divisions for each track.
