Arbit is a composition workstation built around a piano roll where notes can be connected by harmonic relationships instead of treated as fixed grid positions.

The core idea is simple: draw a relationship between two notes and choose the ratio. A 3/2 fifth, 5/4 major third, 7/4 harmonic seventh, or any other harmonic relationship can become part of the score. Move a master note and the linked notes retune with it. The tuning is not a separate table bolted onto the project; it is part of the composition.

Arbit can run as a standalone app or as a VST3/CLAP plugin inside another DAW. In plugin form it works as a composition front-end that feeds MIDI and per-note pitch information into the host. In standalone form it gives new producers a free, focused place to compose before moving into heavier production workflows.

**Free tier**.

- Harmonic piano roll with note-to-note ratio links
- Just-intonation and microtonal composition workflows
- Per-note microtuning output through VST3 note expressions, CLAP note expressions, and MPE
- Core DAW functionality in the standalone app
- VST3 hosting
- Built-in SF2 and SFZ instrument support
- Built-in instrument library and downloadable starter content
- Airwindows effects included
- MIDI import/export and composition export
- Lua scripting for custom tools and workflows
- Windows, macOS, and Linux builds.

**What makes it different**.

Most DAWs are designed around recording, editing, and mixing audio. Arbit is designed around composing notes first. That makes it useful both for microtonal composers and for new producers who want to focus on melody, harmony, rhythm, and arrangement before getting buried in production details.

It also works alongside an existing DAW: use Arbit to write harmonically aware MIDI, then feed the result to your main synths and instruments.

**Arbit Pro**.

Arbit Pro unlocks the audio-transformation side of the system:

- Record audio into note-based samples
- Drag and drop samples onto notes
- Audio pitch correction for monophonic audio
- WORLD vocoder / harmonic audio transformation workflows
- DiffSinger singing voice synthesis
- UTAU voicebank support
- Vocal and sample workflows that follow the same harmonic graph as the notes.

The free version is meant to be a serious composition tool on its own. Pro is for turning those compositions into richer sample, vocal, and pitch-edited productions.
