In 1992, Ensoniq released the ASR-10 Advanced Sampling Recorder. It wasn't just a sampler — it was a complete production studio in a single keyboard. While other machines played back samples, the ASR-10 let you shape them with synthesizer-grade filters, three envelopes, 62 onboard effects, and a built-in sequencer.

It became the weapon of choice for an entire generation of hip-hop producers who needed a machine that could keep up with their ideas. The ASR-10 didn't just play samples — it transformed them into something new.

The Recreation

Every Detail. Faithfully Recreated. ASR-V isn't an approximation. It's a ground-up recreation of the ASR-10's entire signal path — from the 1-bit sigma-delta converters to the ESP effects processor to the DOC IV voice engine:

• Authentic Filters: 3-pole and 2-pole filters in series, modeled from the original ES5506 chip with asymmetric coefficient ramping.
• ESP Effects: All 62 original effects algorithms, from the lush reverbs to the gritty distortions that defined the ASR-10 sound.
• Vintage Mode: Full analog signal path modeling. AD1879 ADC coloration, DAC reconstruction, OTTO filter saturation, 16-bit quantization, and ESP effects coloration — tuned against real ASR-10 hardware recordings. Toggle on for that warm, gritty analog character.
• The Workflow: Load, Command, Edit modes. The floppy drive. The VFD display. Every button mapped exactly where it should be.
• Original Disk Compatibility: Load real Ensoniq disk images directly. Decades of ASR-10 sound libraries, instruments, and sequences — ready to use on day one.
• Song Mode Bounce Down: Arrange sequences into songs, then bounce the final mix or export multi-track stems. Studio-ready output from inside the plugin.
