my goto transient designer - I am surprised more isn't made of it - is a little more complex than the normal transient designers but a lot more powerful in my view.

Perhaps is best thought of as an envelope designer as you can radically change the envelope of a sound more or less like imposing a synth ADSR onto audio eg impose a long slow attack on guitar or piano.
