Attrattore is an experimental subtractive synthesizer built around the mathematics of deterministic chaos.

At first glance, it looks like a familiar synthesizer, with two oscillators, FM, filters, modulation, effects, and everything expected from a modern instrument. The difference lies at its core.

Instead of generating traditional waveforms such as sine, saw, or square waves, Attrattore's oscillators are mathematical chaotic attractors. Each oscillator is a real dynamical system—Lorenz, Rössler, Chua, and 33 others—whose differential equations are numerically integrated in real time thousands of times per millisecond.

The resulting sound is not produced from samples or wavetable lookups. Every audio sample is generated directly from the evolving trajectory of the selected attractor, creating a signal that is constantly changing and never perfectly repeats itself.

This continuous evolution gives Attrattore a uniquely organic character. The movement comes directly from the mathematics rather than from LFOs, random generators, or scripted modulation, allowing every note to develop subtle variations naturally.

Despite its experimental foundations, Attrattore remains a fully playable musical instrument. Its tuning system and synthesis engine make it capable of producing solid basses, expressive leads, evolving pads, keys, and classic subtractive sounds, while also excelling at complex textures, drones, and chaotic sound design.

For deeper exploration, Drone Mode removes the need for MIDI input entirely. The attractors are left free to evolve according to their own dynamics, transforming Attrattore into an autonomous sound generator capable of everything from slow ambient movement to dense, unpredictable sonic landscapes.
