At its core, the Bass Drum 2 features a comprehensive set of controls that allow for meticulous sculpting of the kick drum sound. Parameters such as Pitch, Tune, and Tune Depth provide control over the fundamental frequency and pitch envelope of the drum, enabling everything from deep sub-basses to higher-pitched percussive tones. The Attack and Decay controls shape the transient and sustain of the sound, allowing you to dial in the perfect amount of punch and body. A key addition to this version is the Drive control, which introduces a rich and musical saturation, adding harmonic complexity and grit to the signal. One of the most significant enhancements in the Bass Drum 2 is the inclusion of a Trigger/Gate mode switch. In Trigger mode, the module responds to short trigger signals, producing classic, punchy kick sounds. When switched to Gate mode, the module responds to the length of the incoming gate signal, allowing for the creation of sustained bass sounds and unconventional, evolving kick patterns. This feature, combined with the extensive CV control over nearly every parameter, opens up a vast landscape of rhythmic and sonic exploration.
