The Make Noise Bruxa is a deeply atmospheric and experimental Eurorack module, described as a "Time-Filter Delay." This all-analog module ventures far beyond conventional delay effects, utilizing a series of seven bucket-brigade device (BBD) chips to create a sound processor that is as much a filter and a sound source as it is a delay. Designed for the sonic explorer, the Bruxa excels at generating rhythmic echoes that can be warped into complex, evolving textures, producing cavernous feedback loops, and crafting otherworldly drones. It's a tool for transforming simple sounds into rich, detailed sonic landscapes, encouraging interaction and happy accidents through its tactile and responsive interface.
At its core, Bruxa features a multi-tap delay line architecture. Rather than a single delay output, it provides three distinct, filtered taps labeled LOW, ODD, and HIGH, each offering a different spectral character of the delayed signal. These can be used independently or mixed together for intricate rhythmic patterns and comb-filtering effects. The TIME control, which is voltage-controllable, sweeps the delay time through a wide range, from fast, flanger-like modulations to long, spacious echoes. The FEEDBACK control, also under voltage control, can be pushed from subtle repeats into dense, self-oscillating chaos, turning the Bruxa into a powerful drone voice. An input stage with an analog saturation circuit allows you to drive the signal before it hits the BBDs, adding warmth, grit, or aggressive distortion to the effect. The Bruxa is a truly unique module for sound designers looking to add a touch of analog unpredictability and character to their system.
