The Make Noise Ch.Svr (Channel Saver) is a deceptively simple yet profoundly useful utility module designed to bring a form of preset management to the fluid world of Eurorack. In an environment where patches are often ephemeral, the Channel Saver provides a vital function: it allows you to store and recall the state of up to three independent channels of control voltage. This makes it an indispensable tool for live performance, complex patch structuring, and repeatable sound design. It elegantly solves the problem of wanting to return to a specific "sweet spot" within a patch without resorting to taking photos of your knob positions.
The operation is brilliantly straightforward. The module features a SAVE button, three channel selection buttons (A, B, C), and corresponding inputs and outputs for each channel. To save a state, you simply patch your CV sources (like a sequencer's pitch output, an envelope's decay time, or a filter's cutoff modulation) into the inputs, press the SAVE button, and then press the desired channel button. The module instantly stores the incoming voltage levels. To recall, you just press the button for the channel you want to activate, and the saved voltages are sent to the outputs. This allows for instant A/B/C comparison of settings, recalling precise tunings for oscillators, or changing the character of an entire patch with the press of a button. The settings are stored in non-volatile memory, meaning they are retained even when the system is powered down.
