This chiptune-inspired module packs a tremendous amount of character into a small footprint, offering two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and a versatile low-frequency oscillator (LFO) designed to create nostalgic and lo-fi sonic textures. Chipz is perfect for musicians looking to explore the world of chiptune music or add a unique digital flavor to their analog patches. Its straightforward design makes it easy to dial in a wide range of sounds, from classic video game arpeggios and sound effects to gritty, aliased drones and percussive hits.

The Chipz module is split into two main sections. The top section features two independent VCOs, each with its own pitch control and waveform selection. You can choose from sine, triangle, saw, square, and noise waveforms, providing a solid foundation for building your sounds. The real magic happens when you start modulating these oscillators. The module includes a dedicated LFO with multiple waveform options that can be routed to either VCO to create pitch modulation, vibrato, or evolving textures. The bottom LFO section can also be used as a third audible-range oscillator for three-voice mayhem. With CV control over the pitch of both main oscillators, you can easily integrate Chipz into any melodic or generative patch, making it a surprisingly versatile sound source that punches well above its weight.
