From the haunting whispers of forest voices to the bright shimmer of dulcimer strings and the sweeping warmth of a chamber string ensemble, to the deep resonance of medieval percussion, including church bells cast by the very foundry that forged Big Ben, each instrument carries character, tradition, and a unique voice.

Intricate Folk Legato

By the hearth of the tavern in Compendium: Eldenvale sit our suite of legato soloists, captured in a dry studio environment to give you maximum control and clarity. From the airy, agile wooden flute, to a dancing duo of whistles, and the dark, expressive uilleann pipes, each instrument is imbued with character and features our Smart Legato technology, making it effortless to craft melodic lines grounded in realism. Whether evoking a longing for home or leading a lively tavern dance, these soloists bring your fantasy worlds vividly to life.

Chamber String Ensemble

At the vanguard of Eldenvale lies the chamber strings ensemble, featuring a mix of high and low sections arranged in a 3,2,3,2 layout across violins, violas, cellos, and basses. This distinctive setup is light enough for detailed, expressive scoring, yet capable of delivering powerful, soaring melodies. With its raw folk-like character and transparent texture, the ensemble evokes a sense of closeness and warmth rarely found in larger string sections, perfect for weaving emotional threads through both quiet woodland scenes and sweeping heroic passages.

Innovative Composing Tools

Alongside familiar tools such as our intelligent Smart Legato and Instrument Placement systems, we're proud to unveil a suite of new innovations designed to put even more expressive power at your fingertips. Shape your own cascading melodies with the Celtic harp's Glissando Controller, compose with ease using the bouzouki's Chordal Performance Engine and cello phrases' Root Key Selector, and achieve additional depth with the Lute and Theorbo's new Double Tracking within Instrument Placement. Every feature is crafted to make your compositions feel alive, intuitive, and effortlessly cinematic.

Those familiar with our Layer Blends libraries and Orchestral Atmospheres will recognise the Fantasy Pads, featuring 33 atmospheric pads crafted from Eldenvale's own samples and beyond, perfect for evoking mist rolling over mountain mornings or hinting at an approaching storm. Venture into shadow with Dark Drones, 15 textures drawn from the depths of Eldenvale, or wander into the enchanted canopy with Forest Voices, featuring four altos performing delicate articulations and whispers inspired by iconic fantasy scores.

Anchoring the world of Compendium: Eldenvale is a collection of eight instruments that define the sound of fantasy. Feel the folky warmth of the grand cimbalom, the ringing clarity of the hammered dulcimer and plucked zither, evoking bustling taverns and hidden villages, and the expressive voice of the bouzouki, a unique addition to the world of sampling with its intuitive Chordal Performance Engine. Each instrument is further enhanced with intuitive tools, from the new Glissando Controller to performable rolls, allowing you to weave melodies that are as playable as they are alive.

Forged in Fire

Rounding off this expansive library is a richly detailed percussion section, echoing through ancient halls and across battlefields. Collections of medieval and traditional drums provide earthy rhythm and drive, while an array of metals, from shimmering cymbals to resonant gongs, adds a touch of mystic brilliance. Deeper still, the thunder of orchestral bass drums conjures the march of great armies, and a set of church bells, cast in the same foundry as London's Big Ben, tolls with quiet mystery.
