Cracklefield is experimental multidirectional sequencer, inspired by cellular automatons and early videogames. It can animate several cursors on a cellular grid field. Cursors can collide, bounce off obstacles and field edges or interact with sequence program, creating evolving patterns.
Cracklefield can be used to generate melodic or percussive patterns, or act as one of the kind arpeggiator. It comes with a set of unusual/experimental acoustic or electro-acoustic sample sets, featuring a hollow soviet balalakia, wire brushed half crash cymbal or copper rod mallets. It's fairly easy to insert new custom sounds, or the instrument can be used to export MIDI clips via drag'n'drop mechanism.
