Digiface AES

The RME Digiface AES is a professional, compact USB audio interface designed specifically for handling AES/EBU digital audio signals. It provides a straightforward and reliable solution for connecting AES-equipped devices such as high-end converters, digital mixing consoles, and mastering processors to a computer. With its generous channel count, sample rate support up to 192 kHz, and RME's renowned driver stability, the Digiface AES is an ideal choice for broadcast facilities, mastering studios, and any setup that relies heavily on the AES/EBU standard. Its bus-powered operation and small footprint also make it a perfect tool for mobile recording and analysis tasks.

This interface offers a total of 14 inputs and 16 outputs. The primary I/O is a 25-pin D-sub connector that provides 6 channels of AES/EBU input (12 channels of audio) and 6 channels of AES/EBU output (12 channels of audio). Additionally, a standard XLR connector provides another AES/EBU I/O pair. For monitoring and additional connectivity, the unit includes a stereo analog output that can be routed to headphones or studio monitors, and an S/PDIF optical output. The Digiface AES features RME's SteadyClock FS technology, ensuring pristine audio quality through exceptional jitter suppression. It is controlled by the powerful TotalMix FX software, which allows for intricate routing and monitoring setups with zero latency.
