Dorian Marko Piano

The Dorian Marko Piano is a virtual instrument which runs as a VST/AU/AAX plugin or standalone app on Windows/Mac.

This instrument includes four different piano models, each with its own unique sound, stylistic GUI and set of controls to cater for different music styles.

The four different piano modes:

"Concert" (for a traditional concert sound), "stage" (for rock, pop, jazz), "attic" (a soft, haunting sound which works in cinematic productions) and "stardust" (highly experimental sonic effects).

Features:

• Inspiring Graphical Interface - A graphically rich visual display which reacts to the user's performance/MIDI data fed into it.

• Lifelike Sustain Pedal Resonance - Sympathetic resonance behaviour when the sustain pedal has been pressed down. Can be turned up or down.

• Fourteen velocity layers.
• Separately sampled una-corda pedal - the real thing, no filtering/faking.
• Adjust all parts of the piano's sound; the resonance, hammer strikes, hammer lifts, releases, mic positions and room/background noise.
• Three mic positions.
• Adjustable velocity curve for varying the dynamic response of the piano.

The Steinway D piano was prepared for this project by renowned piano tech Iain Gordon who has prepared pianos for Lang Lang, Evgeny Kissin, Martha Argerich, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Chick Corea and more.
