What is FDSynthesizer?

FDSynthesizer is a VST3/AU plugin that emulates the FDS sound chip — an expansion audio unit from retro game consoles of the 80s and 90s.

The FDS sound chip produces a distinctive sound by combining a 64-step wave table with a 32-entry modulation table, and was integral to the game music of its era.

FDSynthesizer faithfully recreates this chip's behavior while adding modern music production features.
