Foleysoft Footsteps

Foleysoft Footsteps is a Sample Library for Kontakt Player for the US & EU post production markets aimed at creating realistic footsteps for characters on movies, TV and Games. Using MIDI to trigger samples, this library will help "play" the footstep sequences of actors on screen with ease and realism.

Foleysoft Footsteps expands the existing options in similar products by adding separate triggers for the front of the step and the heel/back of the step. This extra feature was implemented on every round robin, every mic position and every articulation by editing each individual WAV file and mapping it consistently across each shoe type.

Foleysoft Footsteps contains 6 different shoe types on 6 different layers, and per layers it has 4 mic positions, 14 surfaces, x10 round robin, 4 articulations (walk/pace/run/scuff), 3 on board effects.

All samples where recorded in a high end post production facility using state of the art equipment.

It took forever, but every step of every round robin and mic position is edited to be only "heel" or "front" of the step, in addition to the full step and scuffs. For walk, medium pace and run. It might seem like a small feature but this enables a wide range of variety and realism. For example, sometimes a character is far away walking and a full step (front+heel) will not sound realistic, but only the heel will get closer to a desired sound that matches the environment of an actor or can work for a more realistic international M&E. Or mix and match between Full Step and front for a more natural sound.

Foleysoft footsteps is purchased exclusively at www.foleysoft.com and uses the Kontakt Player plugin host as the main frame work that works with any DAW. This product is downloaded via the Native Access application from Native Instruments. The license for the samples is royalty free and the sample library can be used in as many computers as Native Instruments license allows.

Bonus Free Lemur MIDI Template. Foleysoft Footsteps works with MIDI. You can buy a cheap MIDI keyboard online or you can use a wide selection of MIDI apps for Tablets and Smartphones. Lemur is one of the most well known MIDI controller app and currently free although not supported. We provided a useful Lemur template to trigger the steps with your ipad.
