Tweaks to the individual drum components can be achieved using the included mixer. Each drum component sounds as a part of the drumset as a single instrument played in an acoustic space.

As is the case with all of the plugins in the Handy Drums collection, the Studio Legend comes with a clean, simple GUI offering essential functionalities such as drum mapping, routing, and other settings in a discreet, intuitive manner. That makes this virtual drumset very easy to use.

At the center of this plugin is a natural-sounding, impeccably-tuned, 6-piece Yamaha Recording Custom drumset known for its full-bodied drum sound with an excellent attack, presence, and "pre-EQ'd" tom sound. Yamaha Recording Custom drums are some of the most recorded drums in history and have found their way into countless records, played by some of the greatest drummers in the world.

This kit contains natural room ambiance and sounds on the playback the same way it did in the recording studio. The drums are punchy with a natural tom sustain. They are suitable for a range of contemporary music styles.

In addition to the 6-piece drumset with cymbals (hats, ride, crashes, splashes), the plugin comes with a few essential sampled percussion instruments: shaker, triangle, cowbell, tambourine, and handclaps.

The variable hi-hat comes standard with this plugin, but it achieves 6 stages of hi-hat openness utilizing only 2 notes in combination with a CC4 controller.
