Intimate Cello - Iremia

The goal for Intimate Cello Iremia was to create the most intimate solo cello library we could, and to do this we chose to focus only on very, very soft playing styles, captured extremely close - in fact the closes microphone was placed inside the cello itself. The result is a virtual instrument of great intimacy, beauty and humanity. With a wide selection of airy sustains, beautiful moving textures and natural, organic swells, Iremia instantly gives you that contemporary, Scandinavian string sound, often heard in Scandi Noir dramas. It's an instrument that quietly pulls your listener in and whispers all its secrets.

The Iremia solo strings series is based on the idea that it is the tiny, barely audible details and imperfections in the sound that creates a deep sense of intimacy and humanity in a sound – and the softer you play, the more these imperfections stand out. To further explore these soft sounds, every articulation in Intimate Cello was recorded both with and without mute. You can even crossfade between the muted and non-muted sounds, something only made possible through the power of sampling.

Intimate Cello has a sister instrument in Intimate Viola "Iremia", which is identical in concept, articulations, microphones and GUI, so the two work seamlessly together.

Intimate Cello includes 11 different types of sustains, 10 moving and evolving, episodic textures as well as 3 different types of natural swells in 4,3,2 and 1 second lengths.

This instrument contains 3465 samples, is 8.33 GB (installed size), it has 48 total articulations and 5 patches. It requires the full version Native Instruments Kontakt 6.7.1 or later.
