Jumbler

The Make Noise Jumbler is an inventive and playful utility module designed to encourage creative signal routing and "happy accidents" in your Eurorack system. At its heart, it is a 6-channel matrix mixer for both audio and CV signals, but its unique interface and normalization scheme set it apart from standard mixers. The Jumbler allows you to mix, route, and mangle up to six different sources in a compact and intuitive way, making it perfect for creating complex modulation signals, chaotic audio feedback paths, or simply organizing your patch in a new and inspiring manner.

The module is organized into six channels, each with an input and an output. The key to its operation lies in the six three-way toggle switches. For each channel, you can select whether its output receives signal from its own input (the middle position), the input of the channel above it (up position), or the input of the channel below it (down position). This "jumbling" of connections allows for intricate routing schemes to be set up and changed on the fly. Furthermore, a BREAK switch can interrupt the normalization between channels 3 and 4, effectively splitting the module into two independent 3-channel mixers. With its DC-coupled inputs, the Jumbler works equally well for precisely mixing control voltages or for creating noisy, feedback-driven audio textures, making it a versatile tool for sound design and patch exploration.
