KAGE RMS COMP

The KG RMS COMP is a general purpose compressor plug-in designed to control dynamics based on the average level (RMS) of an audio signal. Rather than a momentary peak, the RMS compression reliably regulates the overall energy and volume of the signal, adding consistent density and warmth to the sound. The plug-in is comprised of standard parameters that provide complete control over the depth and character of the compression. The 'INPUT' knob adjusts the level of the signal entering the compressor circuit to fine-tune the point at which compression starts, 'THRESHOLD' determines the reference level at which compression starts, and 'RATIO' determines the compression ratio. The 'ATTACK' and 'RELEASE' controls regulate the speed at which the compressor responds to changes in the average volume of the signal and are particularly important in determining musical characteristics such as the groove and pumping effects of the track. The reduced level due to compression can be compensated by the 'MAKEUP' gain to achieve the desired output volume, and the correct final level is finally set through the 'OUTPUT' knob to maintain consistency in the mix.
