A wide-range carrier oscillator paired with an LFO for effects from soft tremolo through far-out clangorous ring modulation tones.
About the MF-102S Ring Modulator
The MF-102 Ring Modulator, introduced in 1998, contained three complete modular functions: a Ring Modulator, a voltage-controlled Carrier Oscillator, and a voltage-controlled dual-waveform Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO). Designed by Bob Moog and his engineering team, the MF-102 was a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers, adapted to process, modulate, and play with inputs ranging from guitar, voice, and synthesizer to any imaginable audio source.
The MF-102 Ring Modulator has been meticulously recreated as the MF-102S, capturing not only the spaced-out, retro-futuristic sound of the original, but also the organic way in which the parameters interact to create a musical playing experience.
With CV interconnectivity, stereo functionality, an extended feature set, the ability to run multiple instances, and presets, the MF-102S plug-in further tailors the classic Moogerfooger functionality to the modern digital creator.

The MF-102S Ring Modulator also introduces unique features not seen on the hardware instrument, including:
CARRIER TYPE switches between the MONO carrier oscillator of the original or a STEREO one, and provides for out-of-phase stereo carrier signals with PANNING and REVERSE.
LFO POLARITY affects the polarity of the LFO, which can be either BIPOLAR or UNIPOLAR.
The MF-102S offers CV Inputs for Carrier Frequency, LFO Rate, LFO Amount, and Mix, as well as an independent CARRIER input and the capability to attenuate or soften these modulations.
The Sounds of the MF-102S Ring Modulator Effect
The Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins range from clean filtering to wildly experimental modulation designed to manipulate, enhance, and fully transform any sound. Each with its own distinct identity, these effects are designed to work perfectly alongside one another in your audio chain.

Exploring the MF-102S Ring Modulator
This video demonstrates using the MF-102S Ring Modulator to process an Akai MPC-1000 sampler drum machine. The MF-102S is a unique processor based on classic Moog modular synthesizer circuits. Capable of otherworldly metallic textures, as well as classic tremolo effects, the MF-102S is a great way to transform your DAW tracks.
