The Make Noise Morphagene is a powerful and innovative sample manipulation module that invites you to approach audio not as a static recording, but as a malleable, explorable sonic landscape. Building on the legacy of the Phonogene, the Morphagene is a next-generation "tape and microsound" music machine that allows you to record, splice, layer, and rearrange audio in real-time. It records stereo audio onto a microSD card in sections called "Reels." Each Reel can be navigated and broken down into smaller fragments called "Genes," which form the fundamental building blocks for creative sound design, live remixing, and generative composition.

Once audio is captured, the Morphagene provides a wealth of tools for its deconstruction and reconstruction. You can scan through the Reel using the SLIDE control, adjust the size of the Genes, and even layer multiple recordings with the sound-on-sound function. The real power comes from the voltage-controllable MORPH parameter, which crossfades between different Gene parameters, creating seamless transitions and unexpected sonic hybrids. You can alter playback speed and direction, pitch-shift independently of speed, and process the audio through a built-in granular synthesis algorithm.
