The Make Noise Mult is a fundamental and essential utility module for any Eurorack system. Its purpose is simple but critical: to duplicate signals. A "multiple" takes a single input signal, whether it's a control voltage (CV) or an audio signal, and provides several identical copies at its outputs. This allows you to send one source signal to multiple destinations simultaneously. For example, you could send the pitch CV from a sequencer to two different oscillators to have them track together, or send the output of an LFO to modulate a filter's cutoff, a VCA's amplitude, and an oscillator's pulse width all at the same time.
The Make Noise Mult is a passive module, meaning it requires no power to operate. It is configured as a single 1-input to 5-output multiple and a second, separate 1-input to 3-output multiple, all housed within a slim 2HP panel. Because it is passive, it is best suited for duplicating buffered output signals, such as those from most modern VCOs, LFOs, and envelope generators. While you can split audio signals, doing so may result in a slight drop in amplitude for each copy. For precise duplication of pitch CV where voltage accuracy is paramount, an active or buffered multiple is often recommended, but for distributing gates, triggers, and most modulation CV, a passive multiple like the Mult is an efficient and indispensable tool for expanding the capabilities of any patch.
