Orbital Sequencer

Orbital Sequencer is a scale-locked MIDI sequencer plugin for Mac and PC that turns an eight-step pattern into a circular, performance-friendly interface. It is now available as a native VST3 plugin for Mac and Windows, an AU plugin for Mac, and the original Max for Live device for Ableton Live. This means you can now use Orbital Sequencer in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and other supported DAWs that can host MIDI-generating plugins.

Each orb can shape duration, velocity, pitch, and octave movement, making it easy to create evolving MIDI patterns that feel alive instead of locked to a static grid. Built for musical sequencing and controlled generative movement, Orbital Sequencer follows your host transport, stays locked to tempo, and is designed to sit before a synth, sampler, drum rack, or software instrument so it can generate scale-aware MIDI patterns in real time.

Version 1.0.4 brings Orbital Sequencer into a much wider production world with native plugin support. Mac users get VST3 and AU, including support for Logic Pro through the AU version. Windows users get VST3 for compatible DAWs. The Max for Live version remains included for Ableton Live Suite and Max for Live users.

Orbital Sequencer includes one of its most powerful creative features: per-state dice randomization. Duration, pitch, velocity, and octave can each have their own independent dice state, allowing selected values to reroll automatically every time the sequencer returns to step 1. This creates evolving patterns that stay locked to your DAW's transport while still letting you define musical boundaries with dedicated MIN and MAX ranges.

Use Orbit Mode for free-running phrases where each orb keeps its own duration, or switch to Rhythmic Mode to lock the active steps to a 1, 2, 4, or 8 bar phrase length. In Rhythmic Mode, duration changes and duration randomization are balanced so the pattern stays tied to the selected musical phrase length, giving you rhythmic variation without the sequence drifting out of form.

Orbital Sequencer also includes manual RANDOMIZE for immediate selected-state shuffling, scale-degree pitch sequencing, an internal key and scale system, global octave and speed controls, gate control, active step count from 2 to 8, ONE EDIT / ALL EDIT behavior, flexible pattern shaping, and saved plugin state recall inside your DAW project.
