Crumar Performer is a faithful replica of the original polyphonic analog String and Brass machine from 1979.
The hardware instrument was a compact keyboard with 49 non dynamic-keys but fully polyphonic. The interface of the instrument is very simple and intuitive: just 15 sliders and 5 buttons.
The CRUMAR Performer is best remembered for its strings. An effective 3-band equalizer with high, mid and low sliders can be used to give the strings shimmering sparkle or moody dark timbres. The strings section uses two oscillators per voice with 8' and 16' settings. Simple Attack and Sustain sliders give you control of your string's envelope settings.
The Brass section uses a single oscillator to generate the brass sound. It has a low-pass voltage-controlled filter with resonance. Attack and Decay sliders control its envelope settings. This section, in the Performer rev_B, uses the so-called SSM chips.
