The Behringer Radar is a unique and creative Eurorack module that combines a contact microphone and a pickup with an envelope and gate generator. Inspired by modules like the Mutable Instruments Ears, it is designed to capture the sounds of your physical interaction with the module and your environment, transforming them into usable CV, gate, and audio signals. The Radar allows you to generate sonic pulses, triggers, and textures by simply tapping, scratching, or rubbing its textured surface, turning your modular case itself into a percussive instrument.

The module's highly sensitive pickup microphone is mounted directly beneath the front panel, capturing not only direct contact but also ambient acoustic vibrations from nearby sources like speakers or live drums. The captured sound can be used as an audio signal and is also processed by two internal circuits. The gate detector translates taps and transients into gate signals, with three selectable sensitivity levels. Simultaneously, an envelope follower translates the dynamic profile of the sound into an envelope CV, with three selectable attack and release settings. With up to 50dB of gain, it can also amplify external mics or line-level signals, making it a versatile tool for sound design, rhythm generation, and interactive performance.
