The Make Noise René 2 is a powerful and intuitive Eurorack sequencer that expands on the concepts of its legendary predecessor. Named after the philosopher and mathematician René Descartes, this module utilizes a Cartesian coordinate system to create complex and musical patterns that are both controllable and wonderfully generative. Instead of a single linear track, René 2 offers up to three gate outputs and two CV outputs across a 16-step grid, which can be navigated in multiple dimensions (X and Y axes) simultaneously. This unique approach allows for the creation of intricate, evolving sequences that would be difficult or impossible to program on a traditional step sequencer.

René 2 is a "3D" sequencer, providing three gate outputs and two quantized CV (QCV) outputs that can be stored for each of the 16 steps. The real power comes from its multi-dimensional navigation. The X and Y clock inputs, along with their corresponding CV inputs, guide the sequencer's position on the grid, allowing for patterns that move left-to-right, top-to-bottom, in zig-zags, or in seemingly random yet repeatable paths. The module introduces the concept of "States," allowing you to save and recall up to 64 complete patterns.
