Retrig MP Trigger is a streamlined alternative to complex drum replacement systems. Its clear, single-window workflow provides direct access to the essential detection and triggering controls without layers of menus, while the open sample system lets users load and organise their own WAV libraries without being tied to a proprietary format. In addition to studio drum replacement and reinforcement, the ultra-low-latency Live Mode enables real-time sample triggering for rehearsals and live performances.
Retrig MP Trigger detects individual drum hits and triggers user-loaded samples while retaining the dynamics and articulation of the original performance. It can be used to reinforce an existing drum recording, replace problematic sounds, add additional layers or trigger custom sample libraries during a live performance.
Retrig provides four independent sample slots. Each slot supports a matrix of up to 12 velocity layers and 5 round-robin variations, allowing different samples to respond to the dynamics of the source performance while reducing repetitive playback:
The detection system is designed to identify drum transients while preserving performance details such as accents, dynamics and ghost notes. Detection controls can be adjusted for different source material, including kick, snare, tom and percussion recordings.
Instance Link allows multiple Retrig instances to exchange detection information. This helps coordinate triggering across a multi-microphone drum session and reduce unwanted triggers caused by microphone bleed.
Studio Mode is intended for drum editing, replacement and reinforcement during mixing. It provides detailed control over detection and sample playback.
Live Mode is designed for low-latency triggering, allowing performers to play their own sample libraries from acoustic drums or other transient-based audio sources.
Custom sample libraries can be created with Remiq AD Sampler and then loaded into Retrig. Remiq records, detects, trims and organises individual hits into velocity and round-robin sets, while Retrig uses those samples for drum replacement, reinforcement and live triggering.
