Scale Rider [advanced arranger keyboard's accomp style re-tuning mechanism for MIDI].
Explanation:
Scale Rider reduces an arranger keyboard to its re-tuning mechanism and frees you from all the unnecessary bells and whistles: no more arranger, no more shitty PWM samples, no more cheap-sounding styles with only a few accompaniment instruments and far too short phrases for intros, variations, fills, and endings. Scale Rider cuts out all the gimmicks so you can decide for yourself which MIDI input source you use—whether it's a MIDI phrase sampler, step sequencer, arpeggiator, or live performance and which VSTs or hardware synths you target.
Let's face it, guys: we're not in the 80s anymore. We wanna use our own synths and samplers instead of old static preset sounds. Scale Rider lets you do exactly that.
The "Master"-module analyzes the chords you play and the "Part"-modules re-tune incoming MIDI notes according to your chords. You can use as many parts as you like. Just make sure they are on the same com slot as the master. Read the included manual for more.
update history:
[28/02/2026, 15:00]: added scale mask selection assurance mechanism ("Scale Resolver" + "Melody Evidence") that, if activated, analyzes the input chord progression and melody history to better decide which scales to select to re-tune the accomp instrument parts, if the chords you play are not clearly assignable to a certain scale without musical context.
[28/02/2026, 12:00]: added all known Jazz chords and their inversions according to Wayne Chase's Complete Keyboard Chord Poster.
