Scaler Detector

A key and chord detection plugin and standalone app, Scaler Detector tells you the musical key of whatever you play it, and offers a place to experiment with chords that fit with it.

How it Works

The plugin can detect chords from both MIDI and audio (including polyphonic audio) played at input, and can also detect files with drag and drop.

Once chords have been detected, Scaler Detector offers a choice of musical scales ranked by goodness of fit, defaulting to the most sensible option. You can audition chords from the selected scale to experiment, and drag them out to anywhere.

With Bind Keys mode, you can use single notes to play one-finger chords from the detected chord set or from the detected scale. Voice Grouping is also available for.
