Searex

Searex is a free rhythmic gate and volume chopper plugin for macOS. A visual step sequencer carves tempo-synced patterns — from classic trance gates to glitchy stutters and offbeat chops — with per-step control over volume and stereo pan.

Step sequencer:

• 4, 8, 16, or 32 steps, drawn in by click-and-drag.
• Per-step volume and per-step stereo pan.
• Rate from 1/4 to 1/32, plus Half / Normal / Double speed.
• Envelope shapes: Square, Smooth, Ramp Up, Ramp Down.
• Swing for groove, and one-click Invert or Randomize.

Shape and feel:

• Depth sets how hard the gate cuts.
• Smoothing adds a raised-cosine crossfade at each step edge to stop clicks.
• Gate Filter sweeps a per-step low-pass for movement.
• Sub-Anchor keeps low frequencies steady while the pattern chops the mids and highs.
