SpiralSet is a sound toy. The player tilts the SpiralSet structure to determine the motion and pathway of three light emitting balls. The movement of each ball controls the sound. Sound develops and changes in relation to the position, motion and pathway of the balls.

Note:

  • This application is compatible with iPad2 or later.
  • Headphones recommended.

The three coloured balls contained within the SpiralSet structure determine the timbre of the sound output. Tilt the structure to influence the motion of the balls, to control the sound produced. Each ball controls a granular voice, creating the sound. The sound develops and changes in relation to the position and movement of each ball. Different sections of the SpiralSet tube network have different sound characteristics. Try exploring each of the different spiral sections.

HINT: Try making the balls move slowly to create subtly shifting ambient drones, or make them stop moving completely to 'freeze' the sound.
