The Fairlight CMI III in the 80's and early 90's was out of reach for most with its hefty price tag, used by countless artists such as Duran Duran, Jan Hammer, Jean-Michel Jarre, Kate Bush, Pet Shop Boys, Peter Gabriel, Tears for Fears, The Art of Noise, Thomas Dolby, Yello and many more... the Fairlight CMI III still remains a highly regarded instrument even to this day.

Wavelight VMI III has three sections, Synth, Sequence and Drum. The Synth section is a subtractive synthesizer in which you can manipulate sounds very easily. Envelopes are edited using draggable node points for quick and easy access and a Multi-Effects engine enhances the final output. The Sequence section has two Modulation sequencers which has multiple output destinations and a Gate sequencer which retriggers samples and envelopes for rhythmic sequences. The Drum section is an 8 voice drum module which has editable envelopes for filter noise reduction and a Multi-Effects engine which has effects sends for each of the drum voices. The Multi-Effects for both Synth and Drum include Tone, Chorus, Phaser, Delay and Reverb. Wavelight VMI III has Multi-Outs so you can send Synth and Drum channels separately to the mixer, and you can also send each individual drum voice as a dry signal for external processing, bypassing the internal effects.

Wavelight VMI III sound library comes with 1448 Waveforms (5083 samples) which we have painstakingly re-looped for seamless loop playback, and we have also carefully cleaned up the samples using spectral editing software. There are 640 presets which include Bass, Bells, Brass, Drums, Effects, Guitars, Keyboards, Mallets, Organs, Pads, Percussion, Pianos, Plucked, Reeds, Strings, Synths, Voices and Wind.
