swarmseq is a motion-driven generative MIDI sequencer and sampler. six mathematical engines produce evolving rhythmic and melodic patterns, allowing you to sculpt complex loops that breathe and shift like living systems.

this is not a step sequencer. this is a kinetic environment for sound design.

generate rhythmic structures and melodic lines using mathematical formulas:

- EUCLIDEAN LENGTH: variable step durations unlock polyrhythmic time-bending sequences.

- FIBONACCI: spiraling rhythms derived from the fibonacci golden ratio sequence.

- MANDELBROT: fractal boundary exploration creates complex, self-similar patterns.

multi-lane sampler & sound design.

each of the 8 lanes features a dedicated one-shot sampler and tier-2 synthesis path:

- SAMPLER: load WAV, AIFF, FLAC, or OGG files via drag-and-drop to trigger alongside MIDI.

- INTERPOLATION: select between Linear, Cubic Hermite Spline, or high-fidelity Sinc (8-tap FIR filter LUT) quality.

- FILTERS: choose from ZDF MOOG LP (emulating a 4-pole transistor ladder filter with tanh feedback saturation) or TPT SVF (Topology-Preserving Transform State Variable Filter).

- ENVELOPES: independent ADSR volume amplitude envelopes, AD pitch envelopes (-24 to +24 semitones), and ADSR filter cutoff envelopes.

- MODULATION: route internal LFOs (Sine, Tri, Saw, Sqr, S&H) to Volume, Pan, Filter, or Pitch.

- LOOPING: loop samples using Off, Forward, or PingPong modes with a 20ms trigonometric equal-power loop crossfade.

advanced arpeggiator & scale quantizer.

extend patterns with a dedicated arpeggiator engine featuring 13 routing modes:

- MODES: includes traditional Up/Down, Markov chain transition cycles, Converge, Diverge, and Chord Trigger.

- CONTROL: adjust transposition cycle distance, rotation offset, repeat limits, and velocity decay.

- SCALES: force all pitches to align to one of 11 scale targets (Chromatic/Bypass, Major, Minor, Dorian, Mixolydian, Pentatonic Major, Pentatonic Minor, Blues, Harmonic Minor, Whole Tone, Hungarian Minor) with a selectable root key.

- LATIN & CARIBBEAN: Tresillo, Conga Swing, Cumbia, Cinquillo, and Tango.

- TRADITIONAL CLAVES: Cuban Son Clave (3-2 and 2-3) and Rumba Clave (3-2 and 2-3) patterns.

- BALKAN & ARAB: Bulgarian Ruchenitza, Turkish Aksak, Persian Khafif-e-ramal, and Arab Nawakhat or Agsag-Samai.

- SUB-SAHARAN AFRICAN: Aka Pygmies polyrhythms (Central Africa), Venda Clapping (South Africa), Ashanti Bell (Ghana), and Bendir (Libya/Tuareg).
