TimeLine MX

TimeLine MX is a next-generation stereo multi-delay workstation that updates the architecture of the original TimeLine hardware platform. The updated unit expands on its predecessor by offering dual-engine processing, a series of entirely new delay algorithms, an integrated reverb section, and modern hardware integration options.

Dual-Engine Processing and Architectural Updates

The core architectural update in the TimeLine MX is the ability to run any two of its delay engines simultaneously. Users can configure the dual engines in multiple routing scenarios, including series, parallel, and split-channel panning configurations. This allows for the layering of distinct delay types—such as a vintage tape emulation running into a modern granular or pitch-shifted delay—with independent control over the routing and stereo image of each engine.

Expanded Delay Machines and Sound Engines

The TimeLine MX retains the core algorithms of the original unit while introducing several newly developed delay machines:

• Spectral Machine: A granular delay engine that provides discrete control over individual audio grains for fracturing and shifting audio into complex soundscapes.
• MultiTap Machine: Features programmable shaping and individual panning controls for every discrete delay tap.
• Oil Can and Drum: Specialized physical-modeling engines designed to replicate the specific mechanical and magnetic behaviors of vintage electro-mechanical delay units.
• In addition to the new engines, the unit features a flexible, independent reverb section that can be applied across the signal path, alongside a 1-button looper providing up to 5 minutes of stereo recording time.

Hardware Interface and Connectivity

The physical layout of the unit has been updated with a high-contrast OLED display for real-time parameter tracking and preset management. The rear panel includes a configurable hardware insert loop, enabling the routing of external analog effects or utility pedals directly into the feedback path or between the dual engines. The unit features 24-bit/96kHz A/D and D/A converters, 32-bit floating-point internal DSP processing, and a dedicated analog dry path to maintain a zero-latency dry signal. Full MIDI implementation is supported over standard DIN and USB-C connectors.

• Switchable I/O configurations for normal, mono or stereo effects loop, wet/dry, and wet/dry/wet.
• Dedicated TAP footswitch for setting Delay Time and accessing 1 Button Looper.
• Infinite repeats for delay feedback effects and infinite reverb sustain (press and hold the lit A or B footswitch on the current preset).
• Premium analog circuits with discrete JFET input preamp and low impedance output section.
• Selectable input level for instrument and line level signals.
• Analog dry path for a zero-latency dry signal that is never converted to digital.
• True Bypass (electromechanical relay switching) or selectable Buffered Bypass.
• EXP input allows the connection of an optional TRS expression pedal, MultiSwitch, MultiSwitch Plus, or TRS MIDI connection.
• USB-C jack can be used for performing firmware updates, for MIDI I/O, and for upcoming Nixie 2 editor compatibility.
