The Universal Audio UAD Enigmatic '82 Overdrive Special Amp is a native amplifier emulation plugin that reproduces the circuit behaviors of rare "D-style" boutique amplifiers. Developed through component-level analysis, the plugin provides access to various iterations of these hand-built amplifiers produced from the 1970s through the 1990s.

It features three primary voicing modes—Rock, Jazz, and Custom—to cover the range of gain structures and frequency responses found in original hardware. The plugin also includes deep customization options, allowing users to modify internal circuit parameters like tone stacks, power sections, and the "Hot Rubber Monkey" (HRM) EQ mod.
