Volume Dealer is a professional true-peak mastering limiter with a full BS.1770 LUFS metering suite. It combines a brickwall lookahead limiter with an automated loudness-targeting workflow - load it last on your master bus, play your track, set a target, click Set Level. The corrective gain is applied in one step. No arithmetic, no iteration.

Set Level Workflow

Integrated LUFS accumulates in real time as you play your track. When it stabilizes, click Set Level - the plugin calculates the difference between your measured loudness and the Target LUFS you have set, then applies the exact corrective gain offset as a pre-limiter adjustment. The Gain Applied readout confirms what was applied. Reset measurement clears the accumulator so you can re-measure after any change.

True-Peak Limiter

• Brickwall ceiling at -0.01 dBFS.
• Lookahead design with adjustable soft knee via Edge Rounding (0-100%) - hard brickwall at 0%, 6 dB pre-transition at 100%.
• Input Trim -12 to +12 dB before metering and limiting.
• True Bypass.

High Quality Mode - 2x Oversampling

At native sample rate, inter-sample peaks can exceed 0 dBFS on DACs that reconstruct above the digital ceiling - causing clipping the limiter never saw. High Quality mode runs the limiter at 2x the session sample rate using an IIR half-band polyphase filter. Every inter-sample peak is visible and caught. Output is re-clamped after decimation to restore the brickwall guarantee. Latency is reported to the host for automatic delay compensation:

• Standard - native sample rate, low latency, suitable for tracking and monitoring.
• High - 2x oversampling, use for final export.

LUFS Metering Suite

• Integrated LUFS - running average from last reset, used by Set Level.
• Momentary LUFS - 400ms or 3000ms sliding window, selectable.
• Short-Term LUFS - 3-second average.
• BS.1770-3 and BS.1770-4 selectable - BS.1770-4 adds a gating stage that excludes near-silence passages from integrated averaging.

Metering and Displays

• Dual analog-style VU needle meters - standard 300ms ballistics, post-limiter output.
• LED bar meters - gain reduction and clip activity.
• Gain Applied, Gain Reduction, Output Peak, and Latency numeric readouts.
• Output Peak holds for 2 seconds before decay.
• Latency display in milliseconds, communicated to host via DAW PDC.

Dithering

• Off.
• 24-bit noise-shaped.
• 16-bit noise-shaped (CD / 16-bit export).

Recommended Workflow

1. Insert Volume Dealer last on the master bus.
2. Set Target LUFS to your delivery spec.
3. Play the track from the beginning and let Integrated LUFS stabilize.
4. Click Set Level.
5. Play through again to confirm - adjust Edge Rounding if you hear pumping on dense material.
6. Switch to High quality for final export if inter-sample peaks are a concern.
7. Enable Dither if exporting below session bit depth.
8. Export.
