Vortix

Vortix is a hex granular sequencer for macOS. It continuously captures your audio, auto-slices it into 19 grains on a hexagonal grid, and triggers them along a path you draw — locked to your DAW tempo. Bend the timing with gravity attractors for organic grooves, then twist a single Age macro to degrade the sound from pristine digital through vintage warmth to glitchy rot.

Hex Grid Engine:

• 19-cell honeycomb grid — draw paths of any shape (zigzags, spirals, loops).
• Auto Fill path generation over 4 or 8 bars, plus one-click RND for instant new paths.
• 4 directions: Forward, Reverse, Ping-Pong, Random — synced to host BPM from 1/32 to 1/2.
• Gravity Mode — place up to 4 attractor points that bend the playhead's timing for organic swing and syncopation.

Granular Capture & Playback:

• Three capture modes — Auto (continuous), Trigger (manual), Freeze (lock buffer).
• Grain size 10–500 ms, pitch ±24 semitones, reverse, and independent attack/release envelopes.
• Up to 32 simultaneous grains from a stereo circular capture buffer.
• Polly Mode — MIDI notes repitch grains relative to a Polly Root, so you can play the grid as a pitched instrument.

Age Degradation:

• One macro from clean digital to glitchy digital rot — LP filter, wow/flutter, crackle, bit-crush, dropouts.
• The UI degrades in sync as you turn it up.
• Ghost Tap stutter, Orbit generative spiral, Age Sweep, and beat-synced Pump ducking.

Also inside:

• Bass Sentinel high-pass and Mono Low collapse keep the low end tight.
• Dry/wet Mix, Output trim, A/B snapshots, Swing and Jitter for humanized timing.
• 12 factory presets, plus preset save/load and randomize.

Formats: AU, VST3, and Standalone — Universal Binary (Apple Silicon + Intel), code-signed and notarized by Apple, so it installs cleanly on macOS.
