X-Pan

The Make Noise X-Pan is a highly versatile five-channel voltage-controlled stereo mixer designed for complex signal routing, spatial animation, and dynamic mixing within a Eurorack system. It goes far beyond the capabilities of a simple utility mixer, offering voltage control over each channel's level as well as its stereo panning or crossfading. This makes the X-Pan an expressive tool for creating intricate stereo images, morphing between different sound sources, and building dynamic, evolving mixes that become an integral part of the composition itself.

The X-Pan is intelligently designed with two main sections. The first section consists of two full-featured channels, each with a voltage-controlled crossfader that allows you to fade between two different input signals. These channels also have voltage-controlled panning. The second section provides three additional mono channels with traditional voltage-controlled panning and level control. All five channels are then combined at the main stereo outputs. The module also features auxiliary stereo inputs, which allow you to chain other stereo mixers (like another X-Pan or an XOH) to create larger, more complex mixing setups. With its DC-coupled inputs, the X-Pan works equally well for mixing audio signals or for creatively combining and animating control voltages.
