Yano Swing is a one-knob MIDI groove processor built for amapiano's laid-back feel — the off-grid push behind the genre's log drum patterns.
Turn the single Amount knob and the off-beat 16th notes get pushed progressively later against the grid, while on-beat hits stay locked in place — no swing-percentage menus or grid-size pickers to configure. Matching note-offs are held for the exact same delay as their note-on, so note durations are always preserved correctly.
Companion piece to Yano Log, Yano Finish, and Yano Space — same one-knob philosophy, same publisher.
Free during the public beta.
Features:
Single macro knob (Amount) controlling swing depth.
On-grid 16th notes pass through untouched; off-grid 16th notes are delayed, up to half a 16th-note at max Amount.
Note-off timing always matches its note-on — durations never break.
Syncs to host tempo/playback position.
VST3 / AU / Standalone, macOS (Universal) + Windows.
Note for the KVR listing: this is a MIDI effect (retimes note events), not an audio effect — mention in Important Notes that it should be inserted on a MIDI/instrument track that supports MIDI FX, since Yano Swing is not yet published (repos pending) and its AU is type aumi (MIDI processor), which some hosts filter differently than audio effects.
